I had to change my Active Directory Administrator password and now I can’t log in to CloudPanel as Administrator or any other user.

I’ve updated the service credentials for CloudPanel Service and updated the IIS application pool credentials but no matter what I try it still fails to log in with errors like the following:

[ERROR] CloudPanel.ActiveDirectory.ADUsers – Error authenticating user administrator. Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007052E): The user name or password is incorrect.

I’ve tried re-installing the CloudPanel and CloudPanel Service software but no joy.

Any idea where to start troubleshooting?

You have to update the credentials in the /CloudPanel/admin/setup page which you access using localhost from the server CloudPanel is installed on

I’ve tried to access that page but it’s just blank with a http 500.

@webcore can you show me a screenshot of your IIS? Sometimes people install CloudPanel to a new IIS website which creates the website a virtual directory to the exact same path which causes issues. Can you verify if CloudPanel is installed as a virtual directory in the default web site?

Ahhh that did it. I had somehow installed Cloudpanel as the default website and also a virtual directory within.  I’ve fixed it and gotten logged in to the setup page to update the AD credentials.

All good now.
