[Solved] This mailbox must contain a valid email address which contains a domain that works with autodiscover for all customers
This is from manual :
Before you can start delivering public folders to your customers you must prepare your environment by following a few simple steps. The first step is to create the first public folder mailbox in Microsoft Exchange. The first public folder mailbox created is the Master and all other ones created after are secondary. The hierarchy will always be contained within the master but the actual content will be contained within the customers public folder mailbox.
There are a couple of requirements that need to be met for the master public folder mailbox:
• This mailbox must always be available or people will not be able to write to their public folders
• This mailbox must contain a valid email address which contains a domain that works with autodiscover for all customers. (You may need to use powershell to set this email address)
Hi, I have several customers. All of them have their own email domain. And now another one client appears which wants a public folder mailbox. Should I to add valid email domain address that is using by master public folder mailbox to all mailboxies of ihis new client ?
Public folders rely heavily on autodiscover which is why these public folder mailboxes must work. Typically the very first public folder mailbox is going to be your “default” one and it usually matches the domain they use to connect to your Exchange servers. For example if your email server is mail.mydomain.com, typically the first public folder mailbox would have an email address such as pf@mydomain.com and autodiscover must work for mydomain.com (meaning autodiscover.mydomain.com works).
Then for each customer’s public folder mailbox you create, use an email address for their email such as pf@mycustomer1.com (mycustomer1.com being the customer’s domain name)
