Shared Mailbox Contacts Issue
Hi,
Have installed the latest CloudPanel as a test setup, following the quickstart and the install video, all seems good so far except for one issue i have noticed;
When using OWA and browsing contacts, when you are logged in as a user, the contacts are limited to your own company only as per the image;
When opening a room or shared mailbox, and then browsing the contacts, as well as your own companies contacts, you also get the global contacts as per the image;
Should this be happenning? Have i missed a step (pretty sure i haven’t)?
CloudPanel 3.1.0.805
Windows Server 2012 R2
Exchange 2013 SP1
The images doesn’t appear to be coming through.
That is strange…. but I guess i’m wondering why you are logging into those? Because they should be disabled by default and not even be able to be logged into with Outlook or OWA….
Please check the CustomAttribute1 attribute and make sure the mailbox is associated with the address book policy for that company. I bet it isn’t associated with an address book policy.
We are not logging in directly to the shared/room mailboxes. We login to the user account, and then use the “Open Another Mailbox” function under the username on the top right of OWA. We have always done this using OWA if we are accessing the shared mailbox when not using one of our own computers/phones.
Custom attribute is set;
[PS] C:Windowssystem32>Get-Mailbox Test | fl CustomAttribute1
CustomAttribute1 : VON1
[PS] C:Windowssystem32>Get-Mailbox SupportMailbox | fl CustomAttribute1
CustomAttribute1 : VON1
From comparing the shared mailbox against a user mailbox, the only obvious difference i can see is the following;
User;
AddressBookPolicy : VON1 ABP
Shared Mailbox;
AddressBookPolicy :
If i set the policy on the shared mailbox with the below command then it shows only the accounts Address book as expected
Set-Mailbox -Identity Test -AddressBookPolicy "VON1 ABP"
Is this something you would look at adding in future releases, or should i just set this myself each time i add a room/shared mailbox?
No it should be adding the address book policy for you but it doesn’t appear it is doing it in your case. I’ll look at the code and see what it is.
However,
Are those user accounts enabled in AD or disabled?
Thanks Jacob, Checked AD, and both the room and shared mailboxes are Disabled.
