RouteBySender – Mail loop

Hi there,

We’re implementing RouteBySender and we’re running into a mail loop.

The issue is that when a mail is send FROM an email domain we host TO another email domain we host the mail get’s stuck in a loop. On the default connector we’ve configured our Office 365 smart host.

The Cloudpanel transport agent classifies the email:
From: customer@domainX.com, To: customer@domainY.com, Is internal to internal: True, Is to same domain: False
MAPI class is ipm.note
Changing routing from customer@domainX.com to customer@domainY.com to new routing domain ournameO365routing.com

Strange thing is that we can see the mail is routed to the smart host (O365) which correctly routes the mail back to us via the connector in O365 but than the mail is routed back again to O365 and so on until the hop is exceeded. It seems that the transport agent keeps routing the mail to the connector.

You have any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks.

Are you running in a hybrid setup? When you setup the environment that way and configure the O365 connectors, it treats it as internal. Can you send me the message tracking logs for you test email?

On Exchange run: Get-TransportServer | Get-MessageTrackingLogs – Sender <email you used to send the email> -MessageSubject <subject of the message> | fl > c:\messagelogs.txt

Also can you send the headers of your test email and the messagelogs.txt to jdixon@knowmoreit.com.
