After selecting “enable mailbox” for a specific user, the domain part is not selectable. It shows an empty dropdown menu. The user’s account is in format of user@domain.ext, and the domain is active for the company as ‘regular domain’. Any suggestions here?

Thanks!

Thats because you haven’t enabled the domain(s) as an accepted domain. You need to go to domains, edit the domain you want, and change it to an accepted domain.

Thanks Jacob, but changing to anything else then the currently ‘regular domain’ results in: Error 500 that domain already exists. I used this domain during the company setup, but now apparantly unable to e-mail enable it?

Adding a second one as authorative does work.

It sounds like you modified the accepted domains in Exchange. Its throwing the error because it sounds like the Accepted Domain already exist in Exchange. When you change the domain from a regular domain to an Authoritative Domain it reaches out to Exchange and runs the New-AcceptedDomain command. Which in your case sounds like its already enabled in Exchange. Either temporarily disable it in Exchange then make CloudPanel enable it or go into the database and set that it is already an Accepted Domain.

How do I “Either temporarily disable it in Exchange then make CloudPanel enable it or go into the database and set that it is already an Accepted Domain”?
Thanks

I would just delete the accepted domain from exchange and enable it with cloudpanel. Would be the easiest without modifying the database.

Exhcange will stop accepting email for that domain for just a few seconds until you enable it again.
